In addition to giving your students your email address, there are additional strategies to utilize when offering support and assistance to a virtual classroom.

Establishing virtual office hours, or consistent times when you will be online to answer questions or review material, is one way to efficiently offer your support. Office hours let students know that you are dedicating this time to them, and it can help prevent phone tag or missed messages.

Using phone calls or virtual face-to-face sessions with students can also be beneficial for building connections with your classroom. Hearing and/or seeing one another while interacting makes virtual connections between instructors and students much more human and organic. It can help students become more comfortable asking for the help they need.
