Joseph Barroso teaches at East Providence Area Career & Tech Center in East Providence, Rhode Island. He has used CDX’s Maintenance and Light Repair Online for three years.
CDX’s videos are key components to Joseph’s class. The videos’ closed captioning is essential, especially because Joseph teaches students who speak English as a second language and one student with a hearing impairment. Joseph says, “In CDX, it’s spot on. The wording is exactly what it is in the video. So the content not only follows the video, but is correct for the video, specifically.”
This year, one of Joseph’s students competed in SkillsUSA’s National Leadership and Skills Conference. Joseph says this student had the opportunity to participate in a co-op program, and could do so while also keeping up with his CDX homework.
“The product being online, it’s accessible to him 24/7," Joseph explains. "So if he misses a day of class, he can still access the content online from home at any time that would facilitate or work in his needs.”
CDX in Joseph’s classroom has led to “a huge amount of growth.” He says, “If you know how to use it, if you spend the time, you can really figure it out, and it works for you.”
